How are you involved with Friends of Stirchley Library?

I’m the volunteer and community coordinator appointed in December 2023. My role includes training and supporting the volunteers, and engaging with the broader Stirchley community. I’ll also be chatting to local schools and community groups about what they’d like from their local library, and encouraging some interesting book-related activities.

We got funding!

We’ve very pleased to announce that we’ve successfully secured funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to recruit a new Volunteer Coordinator! Jen Dixon has recently taken up the post, and over the coming months will be managing our volunteer network and working with local groups and organisations to deliver activities for the community. I have been involved with Friends of Stirchley Library since 2019, when I set up Stirchley Art Room CIC with my colleague Nicki Allen, and we started delivering community art workshops in the library. Library open on Wednesdays

We’re really pleased to announce that FOSL will be providing a reduced library service during Stirchley Art Room Art Club sessions on Wednesdays between 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm. You can pop along during these times to borrow, return and renew library books using the kiosk (please remember your library card and pin!). You can also use the wifi, PCs and the children’s library.

I initially got involved with Friends of Stirchley Library back in 2018/19 when a call went out for volunteers who wanted to support the library.
